Left Cab — 4 Variants to Compare
57" wide left cab. Pick the door and drawer split you like.
Variant 1 (B+C) — RECOMMENDED
+ 4 drawers (2 wide × 2 tall) — manageable size, standard slides, no contents-sliding-around issue
+ Pair of doors above — clean upper half, reads as one cabinet
– Drawer center seam visible (not always loved aesthetically)
Variant 2 (A+C)
+ 2 huge drawers — clean front face, no center seam
+ Pair of doors above
– 57" wide drawers = expensive heavy-duty slides (~$100-150/pair instead of $30-50)
– Contents will slide around with that span unless you partition the drawer interior
Variant 3 (B+D)
+ 4 doors split into 2 pairs — looks busier but matches the drawer split
+ Standard drawer slides (cheap)
– 14" wide doors look small / busy when whole face is viewed
– More hinges + alignment to manage during build
Variant 4 (A+D)
+ 4 small doors + 2 wide drawers
– Visually mismatched: doors busy, drawers wide-open
– Worst of both worlds for build complexity + drawer cost
